Time lapse of the entire universe

Our universe is estimated to be 13.8 billion years old , as this is the farthest light has travelled to us in , hence our perception about the age of our universe is around 13.8 billion years. But how it all started and what was the process that occured since the big bang ? We now that our solar system is around 4 billion years old , assuming the age of our sun , so we only came on the last part of the formation.
