In around a billion years from now our Earth would no longer be availaible for life sustainability, thanks to increase of Sun's brightness and its expansion to a red ball giant. So human species have a job in their hands to find the next home for themselves and this brings us to the topic of Mars.
We all have heard about Mars exploration and why it has been the most anticipitated project after Moon. But do we actually know that why Mars for life ? Well the current human technology does not allow us any further than our own Solar System to look upto for life. We may look all our lives to find life light years away from us but to make life possible we have to reach the destination , which is currently beyond our scope of engineering.
Now the question arises then how can we be able to transform the red desert planet into the oceany planet Earth ?
Well the question is much easy than to to be asked in rather to be answered. The process involved would require huge bit of enginnering along with capitals.

. Firstly , as we know that Mars is outside the habitability zone of our star.
Note : Habitibility of a planet is determined by its distance of it from its parent star , hence allowing it to hold or sustain liquid water on its surface.
Today's Mars has water but only in the form of ice caps and also it does not have the atmosphere to trap the adequate warmth for life sustainance.
Thus we would have to bombard nucleated bombs on its surface , remember be generous with the number of bombs to be bombarded , its a planet.

. The next step would be to deploy methane generating machines. Methane also traps heat.

. The planet is warmer than before , the polar ice caps formed are now melting to sustain liquid water on Mars surface for the first time.

. Only the polar caps would not provide adequate water for the planet ! Its time to bombard the planet with asteroids and meteors.

. Genetically engineered crops would be the next step as it would help to produce oxygen on the atmosphere's of Mars.

. Genetically engineered microrganisms to continue the terraforming process on Mars.
. Houses made on the planet would have to be set up by 3d printers.
The red planet by now would be looking much alike Earth and ready to be used for life. The transformation of the deserted planet into oceany planet like ours could sound to be a dream too soon but these steps and mechanisms would definitely be on cards on the process of terraforming Mars.
